Foot Care Services
General Foot Care
At Peach Chiropody we provide for all your regular foot care needs whether that is a routine toe nail cutting or minor surgery for an ingrowing toe nail.
Problematic nail and foot conditions can be unsightly, difficult to manage and painful. We pride ourselves in having an efficient appointment system that enables us to see our clients as quickly as possible to relieve them of discomfort and pain and enable mobility.
Conditions we treat include
- Nails – thick, damaged, ingrown, difficult to manage, infected and painful
- Skin – hard, dry and cracked skin, calluses, corns
- Infections – for example athlete’s foot, verruca
- Foot odour – sweaty, eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis
What is included in treatment
At the initial assessment the Podiatrist will discuss a foot care plan and treat any condition that is possible to do during this appointment. Alternatively they will arrange a further assessment to aid diagnosis; such as biomechanics assessment or arrange for nail surgery.
Pain in the foot, and higher up in the body, may be due to biomechanical imbalances and orthotics. The provision of orthoses (foot inserts, insoles or support devices), can be fitted within your shoes to alleviate pain and discomfort, and furthermore may help to prevent more invasive interventions such as surgery further down the line.
Conditions commonly treated with foot orthotics include –
- Plantar fasciitis
- Flat feet, collapsed arches
- Archilles tendinopathy
- Knee pain
- Limb length difference
Our skilled podiatrists will carry out a careful assessment to locate the cause of pain.
The podiatrist may then prescribe custom orthotics or off the shelf orthotics if required and also liaise with your GP or other practitioner at your request.
Diabetes and High Risk Patients
Diabetes can have serious health implications if it is not managed properly. The body’s compromised ability to process glucose, and the consequent elevated levels of glucose, can cause damage to blood vessels, nerves, eyes, kidneys and feet.
Common symptoms can include –
- Diabetic ulceration
- Neuropathy (change to nerve sensation)
- Peripheral vascular disease (damage to blood vessels)
- Athlete’s foot
At Peach Chiropody our skilled practioner’s will carry out your annual foot assessment, which includes an ultrasound, and a full report will be sent to your GP.
A full report will be sent to your GP at your request.
